|Mapleside Farms Medieval Festival Demo|
|September 20th & 21st|
Mapleside Farms in the Barony of Brendoken's Marche of the Thistle, is holding its 2nd annual Medieval Festival on the weekend of September 20th & 21st. Once again they have asked the Society of Creative Anachronism to provide the medieval flair of the festival. Mapleside expects to see between 5,000 and 10,000 visitors over this weekend. This allows us to reach out to an exceptionally large audience.
There is no fee for this event, and parking is free. We're looking for lots of people to attend in their best medieval garb. We're also looking for lots of people to participate. The demo will go from 11:00 am to 6:00pm on Saturday and 11:00 am to 5:00 pm on Sunday. Because this is such a huge window please contact me and let me know when you can participate. I will be updating the schedule as commitments come in so anyone can see where we're light on volunteers.
This event is exausting, but so rewarding. I expect to have paper making, maile making, glass bead making, dancing, performance, armoured combat and rapier combat. Because Saturday is opposite Rose Tourney we're likely to lose several people that were fixtures at last year's demo. This just means the rest of us need to step up that much more.
It was so much fun last year. Participants have free use of all of the Mapleside facilities from the giant bouncy thing and slide, to the corn maze. There's a full service restaurant onsite and you'll also be able to purchase funnel cakes, ice cream, frozen cider or kettle corn to suppliment whatever food you want to bring yourself.
